Vet-Stem Regenerative Cell Therapy

Osteoarthritis can be a debilitating condition for our small animal companions and can greatly affect their quality of life. We are often able to reduce the pain and discomfort associated with arthritis by adjusting diet and exercise routines, offering pain medications, and administering supplements to promote joint health. For some patients, however, these treatments prove to be inadequate. Vet-Stem regenerative cell therapy offers a non-surgical form of treatment that has been shown to greatly improve mobility and comfort for many arthritic pets. Ste m cells are aseptically harvested from the patient’s own body fat and, after a purification process, are directly injected into the affected joint(s). Stem cells may also be used to treat tendon and ligament injuries.

We are now offering PennHip radiographs  (X-rays) for early diagnosis of canine hip dysplasia. Dogs as young as 4 months of age can be screened, and when needed, early interventions can be instituted to lessen the effects of degenerative joint disease (arthritis) that results from having dysplastic hips. This is also an important hip screening test for potential breeding animals.  Call us for more information or to schedule your dog's screening.
